BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE OF OUR EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire share deep historical, cultural, and economic ties as neighbouring West African countries. Yet, despite the proximity, language remains a significant barrier to stronger integration between their peoples—Ghana being predominantly Anglophone and Côte d’Ivoire being Francophone.

The Ghana–Ivory Coast Students’ Exchange Programme by LinguaLink Africa seeks to strengthen regional integration by equipping young people with practical language skills, cultural appreciation, and lifelong networks. The programme will begin as a bilateral initiative between Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, with the long-term vision of expanding to other Francophone and Anglophone countries in Africa.
